Represents Self-Mastery
The only way to master life is to master oneself -- you must be a light onto yourself. We spend our lifetime mastering the world around us. The only way to master life is to master ourselves -- our mind, our thoughts, our selves. That is the message of the Guru Bead: We must be a light onto ourselves.

The deities of eastern spiritual traditions come from a deep understanding and realization of consciousness. Deities are sacred archetypes offering a doorway to the infinite. They represent perfection of the human spirit and allow us to tune into principles that inspire us. Each deity has different values, mantras and practices to invoke that value or quality. The yogis recognize that and shared the sacred archetypes of Shiva, Lakshmi, Buddha and Ganesha

Istha is our own doorway to the infinite, it is our own individualized expression of infinity, the deity we personally connect to most. When we tune into Istha we begin to embody their qualities.

Each pendant has its own vibrational quality attune to your chosen Istha with the mantra to invoke the deities energy.

The Maharani Collection was inspired by the elegant details contained within the Stairways and Archways of the palaces of Rajasthan, India. The intention of this curated collection of handmade dresses and skirts is to invoke your own regality, the queen within, when wearing our pieces.

The vision for the collection arose after morning meditation and conversation over coffee amongst the Sattva Sangha to share the vibrant colors, textiles and fashion design of India with the Sattva Community. These one of a kind block print patterns were custom designed by The Sattva Collection in collaboration with Maureen Walsh designs and brought to life by a local family in Begru, Rajasthan who have been handcrafting block print textiles for 4 generations. Each fabric handpicked, handied and handstitched with love and devotion to detail.

Block printing is an ancient Indian technique used to create patterned textiles. First an artist creates a pattern and then it is carved out of high quality wood, which forms a stamp. Once the block is completed it is applied with natural dyes and then handstamped onto the fabric. The fabric is then washed and dried. This process is very time and labor intensive as every detail has to be carefully paid attention. As we watched our artisans create we could really feel their devotion to the work that they are doing.

Our Malas are hand-made and hand-knotted in Rishikesh, India, birthplace of yoga and meditation. A Mala is a treasure and a classic companion to fruitful meditation. A Mala always consists of 108 beads, because the number 108 has many important meanings. However, not ever 108-bead strand is a Mala. Because our items are all hand-made, the finished length will vary. Please contact us for details)

The Mala is meant to be held close to the body during meditation, guided by mantra, breath and stillness.

Many Malas terminate with what is called a Guru bead, or a large central bead. Other Malas are spaced with rondels or other stations, which often group sequences of nine precious or semi-precious gemstone beads, arranged to represent the 9 major planets.

A Mala is made with the intention of enabling us to go beyond the chatter of the mind into stillness, into self-mastery, through our meditation practice.

As with all of our jewelry, the Sattva Collection Stones used to make our Malas are consciously sourced, natural, unheated, and are not dyed or enhanced in any way.
